The Boltons

Sunday 11 May 2025

In May 2025 the London Chamber Orchestra opened a new chapter with a concert held by kind invitation of Jane Asher and her family, at their home in The Boltons.

It was a return to the orchestra’s beginnings. Its first performances, in 1921, were given in a private London house, that of Lady Nancy Astor in St James’s Square. The evening kept to that spirit: music played close to its listeners, with guests gathered in the drawing room before and after.

More than forty guests were received with champagne and canapés before the concert, and a small party stayed to dine afterwards in the family’s dining room.
